There is a good news for team India ahead of the Asia Cup 2022 that the star bowler Deepak Chahar, who was side-lined for over three months due to injury, is all set to make a comeback.

Chahar himself shared a video in which he was seen rolling his arms in a club match after completing the rehabilitation programme at National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

India’s white-ball specialist had sustained a hamstring injury while during the home series against West Indies in February. His injury first forced him to miss the series against Sri Lanka and then the first phase of 15th edition of the Indian Premiere League. During rehab he suffered back injury and ruled out of complete IPL 2022, T20 against South Africa and all-format series against England.

Will Deepak Chahar play Asia Cup 2022?

Although, he is not a part of team India’s squad for West Indies series. But he is hoping to regain full fitness before the Zimbabwe series, so he can play there and get himself ready for the big tournaments coming up like Asia Cup 2022 in last week of August and ICC T20 World Cup in mid-October.

Chahar felt extremely happy to be back on field and bowl again. His happiness is quite visible in his caption of his playing video as he wrote, Bowled in a match after 5 months, felt equally happy when I made my debut.”

With Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the sure shot bowlers to be included in the team while the third one will most probably be Harshal Patel, but the spot for fourth fast bowler is open for the 15-member Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

His ability to swing the bowl in both ways the initial overs can help Indian big time as the World Cup is in Australia. Apart from sound bowling, he can contribute well with his quick cameos lower down the order.

India will play their first match of ICC T20 World Cup 2022 against Pakistan on October 23 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.
