The Sri Lankans recorded a historic series win earlier in the week against Australia but the two teams still have Game 5 to complete on Friday night from Colombo at 7.00pm.

Game 4 Review

The Sri Lankans were once again too good for the Aussies, claiming Game 4 to wrap up the series with one game to spare. Batting first, the Sri Lankans tallied 258 on the back of a brilliant 110 off 106 balls from No.5 Charith Asalanka. It was the 2nd ton from a Sri Lankan player in this series, while the Aussies are still yet to score one. 

Pat Cummins was the best of the Aussies bowlers, taking 2/37 with a very healthy economy rate of 4.11. 

In reply, the Aussies were led by David Warner at the top of the order, as the hard hitting opener scored 99 before being stumped off the bowling of Dhananjaya de Silva. Warner didn’t get a lot of help throughout his innings, with Pat Cummins being the next highest scorer for the Aussies with 35 off 43 balls. 

Australia took the game all the way to the last ball but fell four runs short in the end, losing their first ODI series to Sri Lanka since all the way back in 2010. 

Game 5 Preview 

We hit a winner with tipping Sri Lanka to win the 4th ODI at healthy odds of $2.60. The Aussies have been the worse side for the whole series so far but they still start as $1.55 favourites to win this clash. 

I love the value in the Sri Lankans once again here. Their batting line-up isn’t looking phased by the Aussie pace attack, with the latter getting minimal help from the spin friendly Sri Lankan wickets. 

The Sri Lankans have opted to play 3+ frontline spinners for the majority of the series so far and it has worked extremely well. Back them to win again here.
