Piers Morgan Taunts Virat Kohli After England’s Stunning Win Over India

Virat Kohli & Co. suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of high-flying England in the just-concluded rescheduled Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Team India suffered a crushing 7-wicket loss at the hands of England in the fifth and final match of the series on Tuesday (July 5). The defeat meant the series ended at 2-2 as England bounced back in style to draw level.

The visitors had the upper hand for the first three days of the match before England clawed their way back with a stunning all round performance on day four and wrapped up the game with ease on day 5.

India had a lead of 257 runs and seven wickets in hand when day 4 began. But from thereon, nothing much went their way. England took the remaining seven wickets for just 120 runs and then went on to chase down a record 378 with utmost ease.

After openers Alex Lees and Zak Crawley shared a century-plus stand, Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow scored unbeaten tons to take their team over the finishing line. Root remained unbeaten on 142 while Bairstow, who had scored a century in the first innings too, remained not out on 114.

Piers Morgan taunts Virat Kohli:

Soon after the defeat for Team India, one of England’s most famous and most controversial television personality Piers Morgan took to Twitter to taunt Virat Kohli. Known for his bold remarks, Morgan was quick to remind Kohli of his action during the Test and how it came back to bite him.

Morgan posted a picture of Kohli from the first innings when the former India skipper had blown a kiss following Bairstow’s dismissal. Prior to that, Kohli was involved in a furious exchange of words with the England batsman.

Morgan was furious with Kohli at that time too, tweeting: “Kohli has a brass neck blowing mocking kisses at a bloke who’s scored three more Test hundreds in the past month than he has in the past 2.5 years.”

And following England’s sensational win over India, he decided to rub salt into the wounds for Kohli by tweeting the picture of the latter blowing the kiss with the caption: “Mwwwwwaaaah”.
