Even Rahul Dravid could not hide his excitement as Rishabh Pant scored a stunning century against England in the ongoing Test at Edgbaston.

Rishabh Pant, on Friday(July 1), played one of the best knocks of his international career to bail India out of trouble against England in the ongoing Test. The visitors were in all sorts of trouble when Pant came out to bat.

Asked to bat first, India were off to a disastrous start. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara opened the innings and both failed to get going as the visitors founds themselves reeling at 46 for 2. And even before they could cross the 100-run mark, they lost three more wickets. Hanuma Vihari, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer were the three batsmen who departed as India were reduced to 98 for 5.

The score was 71 for 4 when Pant came out to bat. With Iyer departing soon, the situation further deteriorated. At that stage, India were looking destined to post a below par total. However, Pant went on to play an absolute stunner to put India in a solid spot. He scored 146 runs and added 222 runs with Ravindra Jadeja for the sixth wicket.

Pant played his natural game and never shied away from playing the big shots during his entertaining knock. Consequently, he reached his century off just 89 balls. And as soon as he completed the century, an incredible scene was witnessed in the Indian dressing room.

Even Rahul Dravid, who hardly shows emotions, went up with both his arms in the air and was shouting in excitement as he led the dressing room’s celebration. Everyone in the dressing room applauded Pant’s stunning ton.

At the time of compiling this report, India were on 322 for 6 with Jadeja and Shardul Thakur in the middle. Jadeja was batting on 68 while Thakur was playing on 1.
