Fantasy XI recommendations for the IPL 2022 game between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings

Mar 31: LSG v CSK, 7th Match, Brabourne Stadium

Safe XI: KL Rahul (capt), Quinton de Kock, Ruturaj Gaikwad (vice-capt), Robin Uthappa, Evin Lewis, Deepak Hooda, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Bravo, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi.

Captain: KL Rahul
After a rare failure in the last game, KL Rahul is expected to bounce back, having done it in the past. While playing for Punjab Kings, he had recorded four 50-plus scores in eight outings against CSK, accumulating 365 runs at a strike rate of 149.59.
Vice-captain: Ruturaj Gaikwad
Last season’s Orange Cap winner also had a disappointing outing in the last game but is expected to give a solid start at a high-scoring venue. Last season, no player had scored more runs against spin – 273 runs at a strike rate of 154.23 – than the CSK opener.

Hot picks
Moeen Ali : After missing the previous game due to quarantine, Moeen Ali is expected to play a huge role for CSK. In IPL 2021, he was phenomenal in the India leg of the tournament, scoring 206 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 157.25 and picking up five wickets at an economy of 6.16.

Quinton de Kock : Although his highest individual score against CSK is only 53 in 12 innings, he has often managed to give his team a good start against them. His last four scores against CSK are 17 (12), 38 (28), 46* (37) and 33 (20) – good enough to find a spot in our dream team.

Differential picks
Robin Uthappa: When other batters were struggling to score in the powerplay in Super Kings’ last game, Uthappa played some excellent shots in his 21-ball 28. Since the start of 2021, we have seen shades of vintage Uthappa, as he has gone about scoring 370 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 139.09.

Deepak Hooda : The recent India debutant played a mature knock in his last outing, scoring a 41-ball 55 after Super Giants’ top four batters failed to get going. He was the second-highest run-scorer in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali domestic T20 tournament, scoring 294 runs in six outings at a strike rate of 168 with 17 sixes.

High Risk XI: KL Rahul, Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey (vice-capt), Deepak Hooda, Robin Uthappa (capt), Ravindra Jadeja, Krunal Pandya, Mitchell Santner, Dwayne Bravo, Dushmantha Chameera, Adam Milne.
