In such a scenario, the team-management will have to find a new player to replace Kohli for the crucial number three spot. And while only time will tell how things unfold for Kohli, we are taking a look at 4 players who can replace the star batsman if he goes on to face the axe.

Sanju Samson is one of the candidates to replace Virat Kohli at number three.  Samson has proved that added responsibility enhances his performance. He has done well as a batsman in IPL even after the added burden of captaincy.

In the last couple of seasons of IPL, he led Rajasthan Royals and scored more than 400 runs in both the seasons. In 2021, he scored 484 runs with the help of 1 century and 2 fifties while in 2022, he scored 458 runs.

Samson has the ability to play the big shots at any stage of the game and loves to deliver when he is under pressure. He could be a good replacement for Kohli if given a chance at number three.
