Young Rock Moving To Fridays, Nikki Bella’s ‘AGT: Extreme’ On Indefinite Hiatus

Young Rock will be giving SmackDown some competition as it will move to Friday nights this fall.
NBC announced its new Fall Primetime schedule on Monday, and Young Rock will be moving to Friday nights starting in November. The series has aired on Tuesday nights during its first two seasons, but it will now be running head-to-head with SmackDown at 8 pm EST on Fridays, while The Voice, La Brea and New Amsterdam fill out the new Tuesday night schedule.
NBC also put one other wrestling-related series on hiatus, as AGT: Extreme, the America’s Got Talent spinoff featuring Nikki Bella, was not on the new schedule. According to Deadline, while AGT: Extreme wasn’t canceled, there are “no plans” to bring the series back.
Despite the status of AGT, Bella will be moving on to host another series on an NBC Universal-owned network, as USA Network has picked up “Barmageddon”. The new celebrity game show from Carson Daly and Blake Shelton features “head-to-head series of bar games with a twist”; Bella will serve as host when the show premieres.

From NBC:
On the heels of another season as #1 in the key 18-49 demo, the network announces a fall schedule featuring dominant fan-favorites, new original series and tentpole event programming. All network shows will stream next-day, exclusively on Peacock.
“While leaning into our strong, stable schedule in the fall, we’re also rethinking legacy launch timing to give our shows the best chance for success,” said Frances Berwick, Chairman, Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “With the huge reach that our affiliate partner stations provide, coupled with exclusive next-day availability on Peacock, our NBC shows will truly be accessible to audiences in any way that they want to watch.”
“We’re continuing to invest in content for NBC that not only has the huge broad appeal that defines the platform, but also the ability to continue to find fans across our platforms following its broadcast debut; a strategy we’ve already seen a lot of success with this season,” said Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “We’re very excited by the new additions to our lineup, which we believe will super-serve our linear audience. In addition, we will continue to develop and order pilots, all of which will help strengthen a robust year-round season.”
