Australian head coach Andrew McDonald is delighted by Australian young hard-hitting all-rounder Cameron Green’s ability to adapt to the conditions quickly in different conditions, which can be vital for the national team in the WTC final and the Ashes 2023.

The 23-year-old has been touted to be the next big thing in International Cricket with his ability to contribute in all three formats. He fetched an INR 17.50 crore bid from the Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2023 and scored a hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last match-win game in the league and has contributed to the five-time champions in this edition of IPL 2023.

Speaking On SEN Radio, Andrew McDonald hailed Cameron Green for his brilliance in the Indian Premier League and wants the youngster to shift a focus on all three formats of the game and reckons that IPL will be a big opportunity for him to prepare for WTC Final.

“The challenge for Cam now is to become a three-format player is how he focuses [on] that, shifts between formats, and he’s going to have another challenge in front of him going deep into the IPL finals to get ready for the World Test Championship match, So that will be a challenge for him, but he’s a fast learner and every hurdle he’s got over so far,” Andrew McDonald said

Cameron Green is  Australia’s fast-bowling all-rounder in the squad for the WTC final and Ashes 2023. Green scored his maiden Test in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. The highly-rated youngster become the youngest Australian to score a Test ton in India since Michael Clarke’s 151 on debut in 2004.

David Warner Will Play A Really Big Part In The Ashes And WTC Final – Andrew McDonald

Andrew McDonald believes that the Australian southpaw David Warner will play a vital role for the Baggy Green in the World Test Championship final and Ashes 2023 and reckons that he is an important player to have in the team and said that is the reason behind his inclusion in the squad.

“We’re optimistic with what Dave’s got left, we’ve picked him in the squad and we feel he’ll play a really big part in the Ashes and the World Test Championship,” Andrew McDonald said.

David Warner has found English conditions particularly testing in the past and compiled only 95 runs in 10 innings during the most recent Ashes campaign there in 2019.

In his last 15 Tests innings, he has crossed the 50-run score just once which was the double century against South Africa. However, Warner is backed to reclaim his spot at the top of the order for the WTC final, which will be played from June 7-11 at the Oval in London.
