WrestleQuest Is A Wrestling RPG Launching This Summer
[ad_1]
WWE 2K22 launched last week, starting up a new and hopefully pretty exciting chapter in the wrestling video game timeline. 2K’s latest offering appears to have gone down well with fans, but there have been reports WWE has already started looking elsewhere for future games. AEW is also busy working on its first console game, though no word yet on when we might actually get to play it.
This Is WrestleQuest
We do now know when we’ll be getting another wrestling game, and it doesn’t come from WWE or AEW. It’s also very different from any wrestling game you will have played before. WrestleQuest is a turn-based RPG rather than a standard sports-style wrestling game. Featuring some of the biggest stars from wrestling’s past, WrestleQuest arrives on all major platforms this summer.
You can check out the very first look at WrestleQuest in the reveal trailer below. Created by Mega Cat Studios and Skybound Games, the RPG takes inspiration from titles released during the early ’90s. Creating new games in that classic style is Mega Cat’s specialty, and WrestleQuest is bound to conjure up memories of not just RPGs on the Genesis and the SNES, but also classic wrestling games like Wrestle War and Super WrestleMania.
Macho Man, Andre The Giant, And More
As for what you will be faced with in WrestleQuest, the game revolves around your character who is looking to ascend up the wrestling ranks, just in a rather unconventional way. Despite not being attached to WWE, you’ll meet, team up with, and face off against some iconic wrestlers along the way. Jake The Snake Roberts, DDP, Andre the Giant, Booker T, and Macho Man Randy Savage are just a few of the legends included in WrestleQuest’s adventure.
While 2K22 is good and does the job it sets out to do, there’s still a deep-rooted nostalgia for wrestling games from 20, even 30 years ago. WrestleQuest might not be WWF No Mercy, but there’s no doubting it will satisfy some nostalgic fans when it launches later this summer.
