In this short video cricket coach Ingram Jones talks about the importance of having a strong top hand to enable greater control for the batsman when playing shots.
The player has loose wrists and whilst it is good to have wristy shots and being able to flick the ball the batsman has to be in control of shot selection and placement but must be able to play with a straight bat when necessary or else the batter’s innings will be short and will be very vunerable against good length bowling.
