Former Australian skipper Tim Paine has picked his playing 11 for the crucial fourth test against England in the Manchester test. The 38-year-old wants Australia to bring in Josh Hazelwood for Scott Boland and wants to retain Mitchell Marsh on the side in place of Cameron Green in the team.

The Baggy Greens lead the series 2-1 in the away series and they will look to stage a comeback into the series after the tough loss against England in the third test in Headingley. England put up an all-round performance in the must-win game against Australia to keep their Ashes hopes alive on their home soil.

Speaking on SEN Tassie Breakfast, Tim Paine feels that the fans cannot expect drastic changes in the Australia team after the loss in the third test as both teams back their players a lot to do well for the team, and knowing the Australian think tank he feels they would trust their players to come good in the next team

“People are going to be slightly disappointed if you’re looking for any headlines or any drastic changes, Both of these teams under their new coaches have tried to set an environment where guys feel really comfortable to be able to go out and play, particularly in England’s case, a really attacking style.

“I know Andrew McDonald, George Bailey, and Tony Dodemaide want their players to feel like they’ve got their absolute trust,” Tim Paine said.

Overall, the Australian team has done exceedingly well on England soil so far, as they showed a lot of composure to play the high-octane games in England. The Australian team will look to do well in the fourth test in Manchester to win the series on away soil.

I Think Mitchell Marsh Just Demands Selection, In A Big Series Like This… – Tim Paine

Tim Paine has picked his playing 11 for the Australian team in the fourth test of the Ashes Series. The former Australian cricketer wants to play the same team except that for bringing in Josh Hazelwood in place of Scott Boland in the team and said that he wants to continue with Mitchell Marsh in the team as he did exceedingly well for the team in the 3rd test

“So, my team for the fourth Test at Manchester is Usman Khawaja, David Warner stays in the side, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head at five. I’m sticking with Mitchell Marsh at six, Alex Carey at seven, Mitch Starc at eight, captain Pat Cummins at nine, Todd Murphy at 10 and number 11 I’m going back to Josh Hazlewood. So the change there is Hazlewood for Boland.”

“No Cam Green, We do want players to feel comfortable in the XI, however, I think Mitch Marsh just demands selection. In a big series like this, when someone comes in and takes the spot and grabs it like that, I think you’ve got to stick with a guy who is clearly in form and at the peak of his powers. Mitch Marsh gets the nod for me,” Tim Paine added.

It will interesting to see whether the Australian team plays the underperforming David Warner or bring in young Matt Renshaw or Marcus Harris into the playing 11 for the next test match and they will also have a tough choice to select between Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green for the fourth test
