They Need Plans: WWE Looking For Backup Plan If Rock Cannot Work WrestleMania 39

Maybe or not. We are just over three months away from WrestleMania 39 and that means WWE is starting to put together its plans for the biggest event of the year. That is a tricky situation as there are all kinds of moving parts, including pieces that are not even in the company at the moment. The fact that a missing star might be the show’s feature attraction makes this more complicated, so WWE needs a backup plan.

For several months, the rumored main event of WrestleMania 39 has been The Rock vs. Roman Reigns, though nothing was ever made official. The Rock’s film schedule was always a problem and prevented WWE from being able to move forward with the plan. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s creative team is pitching new ideas for WrestleMania if the Rock is unable to work the show. There is currently no word one way or another if Rock will be able to wrestle, but if he can, he will face Reigns. WWE will not likely have its plans set until just before the Royal Rumble in late January.
