“Superman’ Jasprit Bumrah’s Flying Catch To Send Back Shocked Ben Stokes
India skipper Jasprit Bumrah took a stunning catch to end his England counterpart Ben Stokes’ knock in the ongoing Test at Edgbaston.
Everything that Bumrah is touching in his maiden Test as captain is turning into gold. As if impressing with both bat and ball was not enough, he took an absolute blinder to send back Ben Stokes on day three of the ongoing Test.
At first, he made a mark with the bat. Bumrah smashed 29 runs in an over as Stuart Broad gave away 35 runs in that over. It is now the most expensive over in the history of Test cricket. Bumrah then impressed with the ball and sent back England’s top-three batsman cheaply.
Jasprit Bumrah catch:
After making his mark with the bat and ball, Jasprit Bumrah took an absolute stunner to give India a much-needed breakthrough. Just when Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes’ partnership was becoming threatening, Bumrah took the catch off Shardul Thakur’s bowling.
On the previous delivery, Bumrah had dropped Stokes before making up for it on the following delivery. On the 4th ball of the 38th over, Stokes slapped Thakur’s delivery hard towards mid-off. The ball was looking destined to evade Bumrah who was nowhere close to the ball.
However, Bumrah had some other plans. Before the ball could evade him, he made a full length dive towards his left and caught the ball with both hands. Such was the standard of the catch that even Stokes could not believe it and his shocked reaction said it all.
Here is the catch from Jasprit Bumrah:

Stokes departed after scoring 25 off 36 balls. He shared a much-needed 66-run stand with Jonny Bairstow to steady the ship for England after they were reduced to 83 for 5 on day two. At the time of compiling this report, England were on 177 for 6 with Bairstow and Sam Billings in the middle.
Bairstow was batting on 72 while Billings was on 6. Earlier in the match, India recovered from 98 for 5 to post 416 thanks to centuries from Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah.
