Star Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan holds the ‘Orange Cap’ and will be looking to make an impact in the impending Punjab Kings (PBKS) game against Lucknow Super Giants. PBKS skipper Dhawan is also on the verge of bagging one of the records that only David Warner has achieved so far in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

Until now, PBKS has won 2 and lost an equal number of games. The Punjab-based franchise lost their last match against defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) by six wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan on the second spot for most 50s scored in IPL-

In the list of batters with the most fifties in IPL history, David Warner is at the top of the ladder owing to most 50-plus scores with 58 half-centuries to his name in 166 matches. While Dhawan in addition to his 49 fifties in the IPL, has also scored two centuries, both of which came during the 2020 edition of the cash-rich league.

Besides, in the highest run-getters list for IPL 2023, Dhawan has 233 runs in 4 innings, while Warner has 209 runs in the same number of matches. With PBKS and DC playing their matches today, it will interesting to see if there will change in the ‘Orange Cap’ holder’s name after the doubleheader clash on Saturday.

Given to his wealth of international experience, Dhawan would be keen to deliver for the Kings in this edition of the IPL after a rollicking start with the bat.

On April 15, in the evening game–LSG will take on PBKS at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
