Pakistan fast bowler, Wahab Riaz, expressed his admiration for wicketkeeper-batsman, Sarfaraz Ahmed’s leadership abilities, hailing him as one of the sharpest captains he has played under.

Riaz, who had the opportunity to play under various captains, including Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed, praised each of them for their unique qualities.

Reflecting on his experiences, the left-arm pacer emphasized the astute captaincy skills exhibited by Sarfaraz.

“Look, captaincy is a different thing. I played in Shoaib Malik’s captaincy then in Shahid Afridi’s captaincy, Misbah’s captaincy and Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy. I think one of the sharpest captains of them all was Sarfaraz,” Wahab said.

“And I think the most sensible thinking captain was Misbah-ul-Haq while Shoaib bhai and Shahid were somebody who used to support the players a lot,” he added.

Wahab said that he didn’t get much time to play under current Pakistan captain, Babar Azam.

The 38-year-old reiterated that if he had to rate someone, Sarfaraz Ahmed would be his top choice.

“I got quite minimal time with Babar. Obviously, he was in his learning phase at that time but I think if I had to rate somebody then I would say Sarfaraz was one of the best captains,” he concluded.
