Sanju Samson stuns with Dhoni-esque glove work; runs out Liam Livingstone in style

Sanju Samson came up with a remarkable glovework to run out Liam Livingstone in the ongoing game between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
The England star was batting on 21 runs off 14 balls with the help of two fours and a six. With more than two overs remaining, RR needed the wicket of Liam Livingstone to stop PBKS from finishing strongly and their captain delivered at a crucial time.
On the fifth ball of the 18th over, Yuzvendra Chahal bowled a tossed-up delivery to Ashutosh Sharma. The right-handed batsman hit his shot towards deep mid-wicket and the batters set off for a run. Liam Livingstone wanted to take a second run as well but was sent back by his partner.
However, before he could get back inside the crease safely, Sanju Samson collected the ball and took the bails off in a remarkable fashion. It was a flat throw to his left side and Sanju Samson did well to collect the ball before getting low to throw the ball onto the stumps.

Talking about the ongoing game, PBKS were on 146 for 7 in the final over of the innings at the time of writing this report. The Punjab-based outfit is eyeing its third win tonight.
Sanju Samson impresses with bat:
Sanju Samson has impressed with the bat in IPL 2024 so far. The right-handed batsman has been one of the leading run-scorers in the competition so far. In five games so far, he has scored three half-centuries.
The RR captain began his campaign with an unbeaten knock of 82 against Lucknow Super Giants. It was followed by two poor outings as he scored 15 and 12 before bouncing back in style. In the fourth game, Sanju Samson scored 69 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru before scoring an unbeaten 68 against Gujarat Titans.
The Kerala star is in contention for a place in India’s T20 World Cup squad and will be hoping that he continues to impress with the bat. A good outing in IPL 2024 could very well see him find a place in the team for the marquee event, scheduled to take place in June this year.
