Rhodes Versus Castagnoli, Dark Order Upsets House Of Black!

This week’s AEW Rampage was taped from Cleveland, and featured three championship matches as well as being the continuation of the Tournament to crown the Inaugural All Elite Wrestling Trios Champions!

Winner: The Dark Order

John Silver, Alex Reynolds, and 10 walked into Rampage this week as the underdogs against the House of Black in the opening round of the tournament to crown inaugural; AEW Trios Champions. Dark order was able to keep it close early, however. When things did finally start to slip away in favor of the House, The Redeemer Miro would make his presence felt to punish the Pagans, and distract Malakai Black just enough to lead to an Alex Reynolds schoolboy victory.

Loser: “Hollywood Hunk” Ryan Nemeth

In the biggest spotlight Nemeth has felt since joining All Elite Wrestling he would come out on the losing end of his TNT Championship match with Wardlow. Nemeth was given time before the match to air his grievances with Wardlow and the city of Cleveland leading up to the challenge. Even when Jay Lethal, Satnim Singh, and Sonjay Dutt joined by one-half of the Motor City Machine Guns arrived at the top of the ramp to continue to scout Wardlow, Nemeth was quick on the microphone to draw everyone’s attention back to the fact that this was Nemeth’s moment. He was however repeatedly power-bombed from the beginning of the match and was beaten in less than three minutes.

Winner: Powerhouse Hobbes

Hobbes would make very short work of Ashton Day this week, but it was the story after the match that was a win for Hobbes. After the match, QT Marshall, and his group n The Factory would be shown backstage with Starks restrained> Marshall would punch Starks in the face with a watch wrapped around his fist knocking him out. QT assured Hobbes that he had made good on his word to take out Ricky.

Loser: Ruby Soho & Ortiz

Ruby & Ortiz looked to gain a measure of revenge on the Jericho Appreciation Society this week for the hair of Ortiz, and the hand of Ruby. They intended to do so by scoring a victory over the reining and defending AAA Mixed Tag Champions, the newly married Sammy Guevara, and Tay Melo. They failed to do so, but mostly due to the interference of Anna Jay.A.S on Ruby Soho. This allowed Sammy to score the victory over Ortiz, and continue the seemingly unstoppable winning streak of wrestling’s most hated couple.

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli

Dustin Rhodes looked to finally shed the label of potential World Champion that ring all the way back to his original days as the natural by defeating Claudio Castagnoli with the Ring Of Honor World Championship on the line. This would not be the case as Dustin Rhodes falls short of his World Championship shattered dreams. The final stretch saw an unintentional low-blow from Dustin onto Claudio that it seemed Arn may have wanted Dustin to capitalize on more, but time will tell if more comes from that, The two veterans would put together solid efforts, but it would be Blackpool Combat Club’s newest recruit continuing the hot streak he has been on since arriving in All Elite Wrestling. The show closes on a victorious Claudio.
