RCB Is Looking To Replace Injured Will Jacks With Star Kiwi All-Rounder, Reports Reveals

The biggest franchise tournament in the world, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will start on March 31. This will be the 16th edition of the Indian T20 league, the opening game of IPL 16 is between defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But as the tournament kick-offs, Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer, are already ruled out of the competition owing to injuries with many other names.

A new name has been added to the unavailable player in the IPL 2023 due to injury, and this time it is England’s all-rounder Will Jacks, he was brought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)  for INR 3.2 crore in IPL 2023 min auctions, as reported by ESPNcricinfo, he will be replaced by Michael Bracewell.

As per ESPNcricinfo, RCB has entered discussions with the New Zealand all-rounder as a potential replacement for England’s batting all-rounder. Bracewell was in IPL mini auction 2023, but no team brought him for the base price of  INR 1 crore.

While Jacks is unlikely to participate in IPL 16 because of an injury he sustained while fielding in the second ODI against Bangladesh. In the Banglore-based side middle order, the 24-year-old was seen as a potential replacement for Glenn Maxwell’s cover. Due to an injury, Maxwell was already expected to miss a portion of the season as he was unable to participate in the recently finished Test series between Australia and India.

The 32-year-old Kiwi all-rounder is known for his aggressive batting style, which is sure to excite IPL fans in its 16th edition. In January 2023, Bracewell played well against India. The star all-rounder made an impact with his impressive performance, the highlight of which was his 140-run innings in 78 balls, with his 57-ball hundred, he joined James Faulkner and AB de Villiers to hit the second fastest ton against Men in Blue in ODI.

In case, RCB goes on to sign up Bracewell to replace Jacks, it will be his maiden IPL campaign. Meanwhile, in the upcoming IPL 2023, the Banglore-based side will play their first match against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on 2nd March in Bengaluru.
