For the second day in a row in the ongoing fourth Test between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the visitors grabbed the honours. Buoyed by the win in the previous Test in Indore, Australia have come up with a strong batting display in the ongoing game.
The visitors have fully justified their decision to bat first after winning the toss. Led by Usman Khawaja’s marathon 180-run knock that lasted for nearly two days, Australia have scored 480 runs in their first innings. Allrounder Cameron Green has also starred with the bat, scoring his maiden Test ton and sharing a 200-plus stand with Khawaja to put Australia on top.
For India, Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers. The spin spearhead once again showed his worth by delivering with the ball on a flat pitch which offered very little assistance to the spinners. The off-spinner picked up 6 wickets while Mohammed Shami grabbed 2 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel grabbed one wicket apiece.

While Team India were having a tough time on the field on day two, Ravindra Jadeja managed to give the fans a hilarious moment. The incident took place on day of the Test when the Indian players were talking to umpire Nitin Menon as they decided to take the second new ball.
And while Ravindra Jadeja’s teammates were busy with the ball, the allrounder decided to get naughty. He hilariously poked Menon twice, making the umpire move away from him before joining his teammates’ discussion.

Meanwhile, India have made a steady start to their innings. At the time of compiling this report, the hosts were on 26 for no loss after 8 overs. Team India would be desperate to win the ongoing game to not only clinch the series but also a spot in the final of the World Test Championship.
