India star Ravichandran Ashwin has lavished praise on Dinesh Chandimal for his stunning double century against Australia in the ongoing Test.

Chandimal scored an unbeaten 206 to put Sri Lanka on top of the second Test in Galle. Thanks to his knock, Sri Lanka scored a mammoth 554 in reply to Australia’s first-innings total of 364.

Chandimal reached his century with 2 consecutive sixes off Mitchell Starc and hit a total of 16 fours and 5 sixes. Sri Lanka are trailing the series after losing the first Test.

Praising Chandimal, Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted:
