During the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight , a unique incident occurred when, prior to a match, the referee asked a franchise official about his club player not playing in the team.

The official filed a complain with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and the umpires and referees department is currently investigating the matter.

According to details, the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) ended with Lahore Qalandars’ victory in the past few days. 

Multan Sultans faced defeat in the final after an interesting match. There were several controversies during the event, but they were not reported to avoid tarnishing the league’s reputation. Now, incidents are coming to light after the conclusion of the tournament.

According to sources, during a match, the referee inquired from the franchise official why “my club’s boy isn’t being played.” 

The official brushed it off at the time but later filed a written complain with the PCB. If the allegation is proven true, the match referee could face severe action.

The possibility of their agreement is impossible in the home series against New Zealand. The representative ‘Cricket Pakistan’ knows the name of both the referee and the official, but since investigations into the matter are ongoing, journalistic responsibilities have been avoided mentioning it in the news.

Remember that in the final, there was bitter talk between the manager of Multan Sultans and the umpire regarding the matter of wides in the match. Later, after a hearing, they were penalized with a ban on one match. The punishment will be applied in Multan Sultans’ first match in PSL season nine next year.
