Prasidh Krishna provided Rajasthan Royals with a much-needed solid start in the final of IPL 2022 by castling Wriddhiman Saha with a stunning delivery. The Royals were in a desperate need of a good start with the bat after managing a modest total.

Batting first, the high-flying Royals could only manage to score 130 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs. The likes of Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer failed to get going in the title decider.

For the Titans, their captain Hardik Pandya led from the very front and starred with the ball. The star all-rounder picked up three huge wickets while conceding just 17 runs off his 4 overs.

With not much to defend on the board, the last thing the Royals needed was a good start from the Titan’s openers. They needed a quick wicket and in-form Prasidh Krishna once again delivered.

Fresh off his stunning 3-wicket haul in the second qualifier, the right-arm pacer castled Wriddhiman Saha with a peach of a delivery. It was the second over of the innings and Saha was batting on 5 off 6 before Krishna’s delivery disturbed his furniture.

A seam-up delivery, Krishna angled it in while pitching it on a good length as Saha looked completely clueless against it. The veteran batsman went for a drive but could not make any contact as the ball passed through the bat and pad before hitting the middle stump.

Talking about the game, the Titans were reeling at 39 for 2 in the 9th over at the time of compiling this report. Shubman Gill was batting on 15 off 22 while Hardik Pandya was on 8 off 12 balls.

The Royals are playing their second final and first since winning the inaugural season in 2008. The Titans, on the other hand, have made it to the final in their first ever season.
