Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has made elaborate arrangements for the second T20I Cricket Match of the bilateral series between India and South Africa, which is scheduled for June 12 at the Barabati Stadium.

The counter tickets for the forthcoming India-South Africa T20 Match at Barabati Stadium will be sold on June 9 and June 10. This was informed by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) this evening. The decision to sell the tickets for the T20 International Cricket Match between India and South Africa which is to be played on the 12th of June was taken during a high-level preparatory meeting held at the OCA conference hall.

Odisha Cricket Association Has Made Elaborate Arrangements For 2nd T20I Bilateral India- South Africa Match

The visitors South Africa is scheduled to play a 5-match T20 series in India from June 9 to 19. Notably, Barabati Stadium had earlier lost out on hosting India-West Indies’ first T20I tie of the three-match series scheduled to be played on February 15 in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases in India.

Sanjay Behera stated that “Comprehensive arrangements have been made to the smooth and successful conduct of the event in collaboration with, State government, police department, and other stakeholders.”

“The T20 match between India and South Africa will be played under newly installed LED Flood Light (first LED Sports Flood Light in Odisha) and newly laid Sand Based Outfield at Barabati Stadium.”

“The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) will be using a full ground cover for this match which will cover the entire field of play. This has been imported from the United Kingdom, In this match, OCA will be utilizing two Australian super soppers.”

The Odisha Cricket Association has also developed two brand new dressing rooms of international standards with all modern facilities for the teams.  The two teams will play five matches soon after the conclusion of the IPL 2022 season on May 29 and before flying to England for the pending 5th Test of the previous Test series and six limited-overs matches.

This series against South Africa will commence on June 9 and conclude on June 19. The 5 venues for the matches are Cuttack, Vizag, Delhi, Rajkot, and Chennai. Notably, Barabati Stadium was to host the first T20I between India and the West Indies in February. But, Cuttack as well as Vizag had missed out on hosting matches due to the pandemic.

Odisha Government Allowed Hosting 2nd T20I With 100% Spectators Capacity

Both the teams will arrive in Bhubaneswar on June 10 for the Match. The tickets for the match will be available in both online and offline mode starting from June 1.

“The match will be played with 100 percent spectators capacity, as Odisha Government has allowed hosting the match in full seating strength,” informs Sanjay Behera, Secretary, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA).

Sanjay Behera, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary announced the date while addressing a press conference following a preparatory meeting held at the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) office which was attended by Sports Secretary R Vineel Krishna and Twin City Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi.

The Bararabti stadium has hosted one Test match and two T20Is to date. The last match played at this venue was a T20I game between India and Sri Lanka in 2017.

The 21-year-old Tristan Stubbs had impressed everyone with his power-hitting skills in the Cricket South Africa (CSA) T20 Challenge as he scored 293 runs in 7 games at an average of 48.83 and a strike rate of 183.12. He received his maiden T20I call-up. He was roped in by Mumbai Indians (MI) as a replacement for injured Tymal Mills.

The South African squad for the T20I series includes Anrich Nortje, who was recovering from injury since December 2021 while Reeza Hendricks and Heinrich Klaasen have made a return to the Proteas team and Wayne Parnell has been included in the T20I team for the first time since 2017.
