Jinder Mahal Returns To NXT, Joins Indus Sheer

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal made a surprise appearance on NXT during New Year’s Evil and aligned himself with Indus Sher.
A match that was scheduled to be The Creed Brothers versus Indu Sher on NXT‘s presentation of New Year’s Evil didn’t exactly go as scheduled. When Veer wasn’t on site to tag with Sanga for the match, The Creed Brothers decided to lay into Sanga verbally, suggesting Veer didn’t have the guts to show up. As they were mentioning they wouldn’t fight Sanga in a two-on-one handicap match, out came former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal who attacked the Creed Brothers from behind and aligned with Indus Sher.
Sanga and Mahal decimated The Creed Brothers, using the steel steps as weapons to take them out. Mahal hit a Khallas and stood triumphant over the unsuspecting duo. It was later announced that Mahal would face Julius Creed that night in a singles match. With some help from Sanga, Julius missed a shooting star press, got hit with a big boot a Khallas, giving Mahal the victory. Following the match, Mahal spoke with WWE in an exclusive video and said he was returning to NXT to give back and help Indu Sher learn that following the rules and being respectful gets you nothing in WWE.
It appears this is not a one-time stop for Mahal and that he’ll be with Indus Sher for the foreseeable future.
A Big Move For NXT And Mahal
The Modern Day Maharaja hasn’t been seen on the main roster or WWE programming in quite some time. When he does make an appearance, he struggles, often used a fodder for other talent WWE is trying to push. Moving him to NXT gives him a storyline he can sink his teeth into and his connection to Indus Sher should be a good thing for all parties involved. He can cut a promo and wrestle, so he’ll act as both a manager and a third member, making them a faction of sorts.
