Jasprit Bumrah will reportedly miss the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand and is also doubtful for the first Test of the four-match series against Australia in February in Nagpur, after he was ruled out of the Sri Lanka ODIs on January 9.

The speedster was named in the squad for the three-match series against Sri Lanka, starting Tuesday, but BCCI’s support staff and medical team have decided not to rush him, keeping the all-important Border Gavaskar Trophy in mind.

Bumrah has been out of action since September last year. He also missed the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. He was not part of India’s original ODI squad against Sri Lanka announced on December 27 but was included in the three-match series on January 3.

Now as per a report of ESPNCricinfo, the Ahmedabad-born suffered another setback and might need another month to complete his recovery, which means he will now miss the upcoming three T20Is and three ODIs against New Zealand.
