IPL Qualifier 2 Betting Tips
Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians
Narendra Modi Stadium, Saturday 12am (AEST)
Gujarat Titans
Gujarat had a chance to advance straight into the Final as they faced off against Chennai in Qualifier 1 but failed to get the job done, going down by 15 runs. Bowling first, the Titans were behind in the game from the get-go as they allowed CSK openers Gaikwad and Conway to put on 87 for the first wicket.
Opening bowler Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers for the Titans, taking 2/28 off his four overs, but ultimately, the 172 on the board proved too much for Hardik Pandya’s men, falling just short despite solid innings from Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan.
Gill has been a rock at the top of the order all season for the Titans, but they’ll need more from hard hitting middle order batsmen Pandya, Shanaka and Miller if they are going to compete with the fire power of the Indians here.
Predicted XI: Wrddiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Dasun Shanaka, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Darshan Nalkande, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma
Mumbai Indians
In my opinion, the Indians look the form team in the competition at the moment. They squared off against the Lucknow Super Giants in the eliminator on Wednesday night and put up an impressive 182 batting first. Cameron Green continued his solid form with the bat, smashing 41 off 23 balls to lead the way.
In reply, they bowled the Super Giants out for just 101 runs as Akash Madhwal took a personal best 5/5. The Indians claimed an 81-run win and didn’t get much of a comtribution from arguably their two most important players in skipper Rohit Sharma and opening partner Ishan Kishan.
They have now scored over 180 in seven of their last 10 games and look far and away the strongest batting line-up in the competition.
Predicted XI: Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma, Cameron Green, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Chris Jordan, Hrithik Shokeen, Piyush Chawla, Jason Behrendorff, Akash Madhwal
Match Prediction
Hard to side against the Indians here in my opinion. With the emergence of Green over the last few games, their batting line-up just looks far too strong and capable of chasing down anything south of 200 with relative ease.
The two sides met less than two weeks ago in their 2nd to last game of the regular season. On that night, the Indians smashed 5/218 on the back of a Suryakumar Yadav hundred as they claimed a 27 run victory with relative ease. Back a similar story this time around.
