IPL Eliminator Betting Tips
Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians
MA Chidambaram Stadium, Thursday 12am (AEST)
Lucknow Super Giants
Lucknow have continued their successful run since joining the IPL at the start of the 2022 season, making it to the playoffs last season and backing it up this year with another eliminator berth. They are captained by one of the all-time leading runscorers in IPL history in KL Rahul, who will unfortunately miss the playoffs after suffering a thigh injury earlier in the season. The Super Giants have largely been led by their imports in the batting department this season, with Aussie Marcus Stoinis and West Indian pair Nicholas Pooran and Kyle Mayers combining for over 1,000 runs between them.
On the bowling front, they are led by leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who has taken 16 wickets at an average of 22.56, while off spinner Krunal Pandya has also been a mainstay with the ball, playing all 14 games this season.
Predicted 12 (including impact player sub): Karan Sharma (IP), Quinton de Kock (wk), Prerak Mankad, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran, Krishnappa Gowtham, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Yash Thakur (IP)
Mumbai Indians
The Mumbai Indians are without doubt in the top few teams in the league when it comes to sheer star power on paper. On any given night they can trot out four proven international stars to combine with arguably the three best Indian T20 batsmen in the game at the moment in Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.
Aussie star Cameron Green has played a big role in the Indians success and will bring some stellar form into the playoffs after smashing an unbeaten 100 off 47 balls in the final game of the regular season to steer his team to victory.
Predicted 12 (including impact player sub): Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma, Cameron Green, Suryakumar Yadav, Nehal Wadhera, Tim David, Chris Jordan, Piyush Chawla, Jason Behrendorff, Kumar Kartikeya, Akash Madhwal
Match Prediction
With both teams at full strength, I think this would be a pretty even matchup. However, the Super Giants are without some of their key cogs for this matchup, including KL Rahul. The Indians start as slight 1.67 favourites and I have to side with them here.
MA Chidambaram Stadium has proved a difficult wicket to bat on throughout the last month, with the average score hovering around the 150 mark. With Cameron Green finding some valuable form late in the season, they have so many weapons with the bat and should still be able to post a big number here. They have scored 190+ in six of their last nine games.
