Young Indian finisher Rinku Singh revealed that his life changed after his five sixes against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023. The 25-year-old struck 5 sixes in the last over to chase down the stiff target of 205 runs against Gujarat Titans to make a name for himself in the cash-rich league.

Rinku Singh was the standout performer for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) since the second half of the IPL 2022 and had served them as the finisher of the team, winning the games single-handedly for his side in IPL 2023.

The southpaw is named in the Indian side for the Asian Games 2023, where he is likely to make his debut for India at the highest level. Rinku Singh said that his life had a drastic change after the five sixes against Yash Dayal as a lot of people recognize him after that game and revealed that his family was happy with him making it into the India squad for the Asian Games in China.

“My life changed after those five sixes. People knew me but not that much. But after those five sixes, now a lot of people know. It feels quite good.

“My family were very happy as they would say, “Play for India, we want to watch you.” Everything is good and everyone danced when I got selected. It was a special innings and people began to talk about me,” Rinku Singh said.

The southpaw scored 474 runs in 14 matches at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.52, with four half-centuries most importantly finishing the games for his side from impossible situations.

Rinku Singh was brought ₹55 lakhs in IPL 2022 auction and was retained by the side for IPL 2023 and has exceeded expectations of the cricketing fraternity with the ability to take the bowlers all around the park and finish the games from nowhere for the two-time champions.

The left-handed finisher was a consistent performer for his side performing in every match to score vital runs in the backend of the innings. He provided his side the much-needed momentum in the final overs and complete the chase for his team against the formidable bowling attacks in the league, which helped him to make it into the India side for the Asian games.
