“I Had In My Mind To Not Bowl Too Full”- Ravindra Jadeja After Winning Player Of The Match Award vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2023. CSK won the match by 7 wickets and chased down the target of 135 runs with 8 balls left in the match. Earlier in the match it was the spell of Ravindra Jadeja which changed the complexion of the match. Ravindra Jadeja had taken 3 wickets & gave away 22 runs in his 4-over spell.

CSK’s dashing left-handed batter Devon Conway played a stellar knock of 77 runs in 57 balls as he struck 12 fours & 1 six. It seems like the template is going to be the same for CSK as one of Conway or Ruturaj will stay till the end of the innings. The entire CSK unit looked on a mission from the word go.

Mayank Markande was the pick of the bowlers who took 2 scalps and gave away 23 runs in his 4 overs spell. Skipper Aiden Markram surprised everyone by bowling in the power-play overs, the side had only 135 runs to defend as his tactics were quite questionable.

CSK would be buoyed by this performance. All of a sudden CSK are looking ominous as they had a near-perfect game. CSK now are placed in 3rd position with 8 points and an NRR (net run rate) of +0.35. RR, LSG & CSK all are tied on 8 points as the competition is getting stiff.

SRH would be shell-shocked by this performance. SRH now are placed in 9th position with only 4 points and an NRR of -0.79. SRH would rue their batting approach as another 20-odd runs would have made the contest spicier.

During the post-match presentation, Ravindra Jadeja revealed what strategy he applied against SRH’s batters. Ravindra Jadeja thanked the crowd for their support as well.

“Coming to Chennai, looking at the wicket gives me a lot of happiness. You know it’s going to turn. I had in my mind to not bowl too full. Important to keep wicket to wicket. CSK fans always support us, no matter we win or lose,” said Ravindra Jadeja.
