Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali was seemingly irked by a fan mocking his catching skills when he approached the crowd to sign autographs after the conclusion of Sydney Test on Saturday.
A video has surfaced on social media in which the right-arm quick, known for his vibrant and lively nature, apparently lost his cool and aggressively responded to a Pakistan supporter who taunted his catching skills.
A Pakistan fan taunted Ali, “Come here, let me teach you how to catch.”
The 29-year-old fast bowler sharply responded to the call and replied, “Sure, come here. Who will teach me how to catch?”
The video was believed to be recorded after the conclusion of the third Test against Australia in Sydney on Saturday.
Pakistan suffered a 3-0 whitewash against the home team, extending their losing streak to 17 matches in Australia as they are yet to win a Test since 1995.
Hasan Ali has faced widespread criticism for dropping an easy chance of Australian batter Matthew Wade during the semifinal of the 2021 T20 World Cup.
His missed catch proved costly for Pakistan as Wade then struck three consecutive sixes off Shaheen Afridi in the following three deliveries, leading to Pakistan’s elimination from the competition.
Regarding the SCG Test, Pakistan gained a useful 14-run first-innings lead after Aamer Jamal’s six-wicket haul dismantled the Australian hosts for a mere 299 on Day 3. However, the visitors couldn’t sustain the momentum, being dismissed for just 115 in their second innings by Day 4.
In response, Australia easily achieved their 130-run target. Retiring opener David Warner and number three batter Marnus Labuschagne both showcased impressive half-centuries during the chase, securing a 3-0 victory in the three-match series.
