Drew McIntyre Pulled From Money In The Bank Ads Amid WWE Contract Uncertainty

[ad_1]

The Drew McIntyre situation just got a little murkier.

Clash at the Castle was an incredibly big deal for WWE last year, marking the biggest show the promotion has held in the UK since SummerSlam 1992. The PLE was such a huge success, WWE has plans to hold another big show across the pond very soon. Money in the Bank will emanate from London’s O2 Arena, and it seems one of its biggest potential selling points is no longer slated to be on the show.

Drew McIntyre Removed From Advertising

WWE’s biggest British star right now is Drew McIntyre, a man who should have arguably won at least one of Roman Reigns’ World Titles at Clash of the Castle. The Scot has naturally been front and center in WWE’s Money in the Bank ads ever since it was revealed the event is headed to London. However, TJR Wrestling has noticed that is no longer the case.

When you head to a WWE.com page for an event for which no matches have been officially announced, WWE will simply include links to the profiles of six stars you can expect to see on the show. McIntyre was included in that six on the Money in the Bank page but he has now been replaced with Reigns. An interesting sub to make for a number of reasons as The Tribal Chief wasn’t included in that elite group of six until now.

McIntyre’s Expiring WWE Contract

McIntyre’s removal from WWE’s Money in the Bank page may well have gone unnoticed had it not been for the rumored contract dispute between the WWE Champion and his employers. McIntyre hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since failing to win the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania. While it seems likely McIntyre is recovering from an injury, it has also been reported he and WWE don’t see eye-to-eye on a new contract.

If those reports are true, not only has McIntyre not been happy with his recent creative lot in WWE, but he also believes he’s worth more than what the company is willing to pay him. Not figuring out those issues, if there are any, before Money in the Bank will mean having the show without WWE’s biggest British star. There’s also AEW’s big UK show to factor into the equation. If McIntyre’s deal expires before AEW heads to Wembley, there’s a slim chance we see him show up there instead.
