CSK To Part Ways With Ravindra Jadeja After Poor Season? Franchise CEO Delivers Big Update

[ad_1]

The recent turn of events related with Ravindra Jadeja has raised a number of eyebrows. The Chennai Super Kings allrounder was ruled out of the remainder of the IPL on Wednesday (May 11) due to an injury. Consequently, he has been released by CSK and has returned home. Just before that, the social media was filled with rumours of rift between Jadeja and the franchise. The rumours started doing the rounds after few fans claimed that CSK’s Instagram handle unfollowed Jadeja.

The ongoing season of the IPL has been a rollercoaster of a ride for the star allrounder. Just before the start of the tournament, CSK appointed him as their captain. However, the move did not pay off. With the captaincy burden on his shoulder, Jadeja struggled with both bat and ball. CSK’s performance was not great either as they struggled for consistency. With things not working out on the field, Jadeja handed back the captaincy to MS Dhoni.

CSK CEO on rift rumours:

With the rumours of rift between Ravindra Jadeja and CSK doing the rounds on social media, the franchise’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan has given a clarification. Viswanathan has stated that Jadeja was released purely “on medical advice” after a rib injury. Viswanathan also insisted that Jadeja remains in the franchise’s scheme of things for the future, thus ruling out any possibility of parting ways with the star allrounder.

“Social media, I absolutely do not follow anything. I have no knowledge of what is going on there. What I can tell you is that from the management side, there has been no problem and whatever is there on social media, I’m not aware. Jadeja firmly remains in the CSK’s scheme of things for the future, always,” the CSK chief executive told The Indian Express.

“Jaddu had an injury during the game against RCB and after that he didn’t play the game against Delhi Capitals. On medical advice, it has been decided that he cannot participate further in this IPL and he is heading back home. He has been released,” he added.

Meanwhile, CSK are currently languishing at the ninth spot in the points table. The four-time winners have managed to win just 4 of their first 11 games. CSK are unlikely to make it to the playoffs this year but they are still alive in the competition. Talking about Jadeja’s performance, he has managed to score just 116 runs at a modest strike-rate of 118 in 10 games. His highest score with the bat this season is only 26. With the ball, he has picked up 5 wickets.
