Join us tomorrow for the moving day, the movements might be rapid. Can Bangladesh make a comeback? Can there be a follow-on? Will weather play a role? Lots of questions will be answered. Srivathsa Vennelaganti and I, Ekanth, will be back on comms. You can follow Mohammad’s Isam report here in the meantime and the series here.

5:17 pm: That’s the end of play. Thanks to the spinners, 93.1 overs have been bowled apart from two change-overs. Pretty much the perfect day for South Africa but it came about with a lot of meandering, slow-going, late-bursting cricket. The lower order sticks squeezed out every run after Temba held things together for a while. Bangladesh’s batters started well against the pacers who were a bit too short at times. But Durban turned into Dhaka pitch-wise when the spinners came on, the over-rate zoomed. Lots of flighted deliveries, Maharaj surprisingly assisted Harmer, who took wickets off of jaffas, strangles, blinders, and deceptive balls. An amazing return to international cricket leaves Bangladesh in tatters despite decent knocks from Shanto and the opener Mahmudul, who’s still braved his way out there.

J I Pearce: “Harmer doing pretty much what he’s done for Essex for so long. I can see Elgar opening with him tomorrow morning too.”

Alim: “Due to closure fielder BD supposed get some extra run but they lost too many wickets. I hope they will return back tomorrow by the positive approach of Liton. “

Rafail Ahamed S: “Shutout to Joy for being able to keep his wicket intact. What a blunder for Bangladesh at the very end of the day.”

Shariar: “Who usually takes the decision regarding change in batting order/ night-watchman for a team?” Time, batting team’s decision making, and God’s will.
