The second edition of the International League T20 (ILT20) will take place from January 19 to February 18. In the previous year’s event, no Pakistan cricketer was allowed to participate. However, this time Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan will be seen in action for the Desert Vipers. It was reported that the captain, Babar Azam, was also offered a contract worth Rs150 million. He was also being considered as an ambassador for the league. While certain aspects of the deals were finalized, the payment terms and image rights couldn’t be settled upon.

The Bangladesh Premier League is likely to begin on January 10th, with several Pakistani players including Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan participating during their free days. Shaheen Afridi has signed a yearly contract with ILT20 worth $400,000, and he will receive additional payment for image rights. This way, he can earn nearly 150 million rupees each year. His contract includes a clause that he would be one of the highest-paid players for three consecutive years. If another player joins the league for a higher fee in the third edition, Afridi’s compensation will automatically increase.

Keep in mind that every league has a specific limit for player fees. However, if a big star comes in, they increase the compensation through image rights. In that case, the player might be asked to promote the league via social media posts, do photoshoots, or participate in events as part of a separate agreement.
