Aamer Jamal came out as the savior for the Pakistan cricket team, scoring a maiden Test fifty that defined first day of third Test between Pakistan and Australia on Wednesday.

Jamal proved his mettle with an exceptional innings of 82 runs off 97 deliveries. His innings, adorned with 9 fours and 4 sixes, played a pivotal role in steering Pakistan from the brink of collapse to a commendable total of 313.

The pace all-rounder, who had previously found himself cheering up the team from the sidelines during his last visit to Sydney, reflected on his performance in the post-match presser. He expressed profound significance of the moment when audiences in the stands cheered for him.

“It means alot, it means the world to me. Last time I came to Sydney, I was cheering up my team because I wasn’t playing for Pakistan. It’s a huge moment for me, for my family as well. It was lovely to watch everyone on the feet when I was walking out and I love it,” Jamal said.

The crux of Jamal’s innings lay in his ability to tackle the relentless bouncers bowled by the Australian bowlers, a strategy they had discussed in team discussions.

“We were talking about the bowlers, we knew they were gonna come hard on us, so what we needed to do was just stick to the plan given from the coaching staff. I was mentally ready because at my position, they [Australian bowlers] want to bowl every ball a bouncer to get us, but when you made up your mind to play those pull shots then you can play.” Jamal added.

Jamal acknowledged the pivotal role played by his batting assistant coach, Shahid Aslam and revealed that his celebration was for him.

“Our batting assistant coach, Shahid bhai, and I were sitting together for 45 minutes when I wasn’t batting. I shared some personal things with him, which were causing me to struggle in my batting. So, he sat with me and guided me. So today, after sitting with him for 45 minutes, he brought me out of the thing I was stuck in, and that celebration was for him,” he further explained.

Jamal passionately emphasized the transformative power of turning his cricketing passion into a profession, highlighting the joy derived from the game and the ability to navigate challenges without succumbing to stress.

“Cricket is my passion. When passion becomes your profession, you enjoy it. You dont take stress because of it. You live every moment of it. I have struggled a lot to get this far, but I never gave up. Everything, every stage means alot to me. It means the world to me. I try to give my 100% on every opportunity I get,” he concluded.
