Roman Reigns Subtly Checked On Logan Paul During Crown Jewel Match

[ad_1]

Roman Reigns carefully checked on Logan Paul to make sure the latter was alright after he performed a Frog Splash bump in their Crown Jewel match.

The YouTube star put on a strong performance against Reigns, who entered this match as an astronomical favorite to win. But as expected, it was The Tribal Chief who came out on top to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the show’s main event.

One of the defining moments of Crown Jewel was undoubtedly Paul’s electrifying Frog Splash from the top rope onto Reigns, who was lying down on the announce table. As you can see in the clip below (courtest of GiveMeSports’ Louis Dangoor), Reigns briefly squeezed Paul’s arm immediately after the stunt.

Wrestlers will do this with an opponent to make sure that they’re okay. Paul was able to finish out the match, but unfortunately, he later announced that he suffered a torn meniscus, MCL and potentially his ACL. The injuries will keep him out of action long-term, and it’s simply an unfortunate break for someone who put on a dazzling performance against WWE’s top star.

With the victory, the 37-year-old Reigns retains several impressive streaks. For one, his Universal Championship reign will hit the 800-day mark next week. On top of that, he’s getting very close to reaching three full years since his last pinfall loss, which came at the hands of King Corbin at the Dec. 15, 2019 WWE TLC pay-per-view.

Roman Reigns’ Historic Run Continues

There was almost no doubt that Reigns would win the match over Paul. Still, the victory against a world-famous YouTube personality will go down as one of the most memorable moments of Reigns’ historic Universal Championship reign. Plans can always change, but at this rate, it certainly feels like Reigns is going to carry his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship belts into WrestleMania 39 weekend.
