Bandido has been out of action since June after sustaining an injury during a match on AEW Rampage. He faced Konosuke Takeshita in a singles match and injured his wrist.

Initially, he was diagnosed with a triangular fibrocartilage complex injury but got a second opinion and underwent surgery the next month. Bandido was nearing a comeback but recently encountered a setback.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, his wrist did not heal properly and he had another surgery.
