The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provided an update on the availability of all-rounder Shadab Khan for the ICC World Cup 2023 match against England on Saturday.

Shadab Khan had suffered a concussion during a match against South Africa.

In an official statement, the PCB stated that Shadab Khan is in the process of recovering well from his concussion. Unfortunately, he will not be able to participate in the crucial match against New Zealand in Bengaluru.

“He [Shadab] did light training yesterday however there were still some symptoms ruling him out of this match [against New Zealand]. He is likely to be available for Pakistan’s last group match against England in Kolkata,” PCB reported in a brief statement.

Shadab Khan sustained his injury when he landed awkwardly on his shoulder, causing his head to hit the ground while attempting to field and make a throw from mid-on during the game against South Africa.

It is worth noting that Usama Mir was designated as the concussion substitute for Shadab Khan due to his inability to field or bowl after the concussion suffered against South Africa. Usama Mir also featured in Pakistan’s match against Bangladesh in place of Shadab.

Pakistan is set to face England in a crucial match in Kolkata on November 11, which is a must-win game for them.
