IND vs IRE: WATCH – A Big Confusion With Andrew Balbirnie Lands George Dockrell In Trouble

The second T20I between India and Ireland at The Village in Dublin was all about the Jasprit Bumrah-led side but the partnership between Andrew Balbirnie and George Dockrell gave a mini heart attack to the visitors.

While chasing the target of 186 runs, Ireland was under a lot of pressure as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were tottering at 63/4 and it seemed that they would be bundled out under 100. But it was at that moment when Andrew Balbirnie and George Dockrell stood tall.

Andrew Balbirnie (72) and George Dockrell stitched 52 runs for the fifth wicket and with the way they were going, it seemed that they would take the game really close. But that didn’t happen as it was an unfortunate way to end their partnership as they both were left in confusion and the latter ended up getting run out.

It was during the last ball of the 15th over when Prasidh Krishna bowled a length delivery, outside off to Andrew Balbirnie, who hit it past point. The two batters were caught up in the confusion and couldn’t gel well with the calls and George Dockrell paid for it.

Ravi Bishnoi, who was at the sweeper cover charged in and threw the ball at the batter’s end. George Dockrell was well short of the crease as Sanju Samson ran him out. The all-rounder was back in the hut for 13 runs.

“They are a highly skilled bowling unit. Kind of disappointed. We are playing good cricket. Hopefully can put a better show in the last game. Guys trying to hit it off the first ball. Hopefully, we can get over the line on Wednesday. Friday was so close. We feel we can beat them if we play better.”

The dead rubber third T20I between India and Ireland will be played on Wednesday (23rd August).
