In a bizarre turn of events during the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL),  ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin left everyone shocked with his decision to challenge an already reviewed decision. As a result of his action, two reviews were used for a single ball.

The incident took place during the match between Dindigul Dragons and Ba11sy Trichy on Wednesday (June 14). During the 13th over of Trichy’s innings, Ravichandran Ashwin was up against R Rajkumar. On the fifth ball of the over, Ravichandran Ashwin and his teammates appealed for a caught behind and the umpire gave his decision in the bowler’s favour.

However, the batsman was not convinced with the decision and decided to review it. After watching the replays, the third umpire overruled the on-field umpire’s decision. The replay showed a spike on UltraEdge before the ball made contact with the bat, indicating that the bat had touched the ground rather than the ball.

But Ravichandran Ashwin was not at all impressed with the decision and immediately asked for another review after the on-field changed his initial decision. The third umpire had to examine the same replay footage once again and he came up with the same conclusion once again.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin managed to deliver a good performance with the ball. The senior spinner picked up 2 wickets for 26 runs in his 4 overs to help his team bowl out Trichy for just 120 runs in 19.1 overs.  In reply, the Dragons chased it down inside 15 overs by losing just 4 wickets to win the game by 6 wickets.
