Former Pakistan all-rounder, Abdul Razzaq, has voiced his support for Babar Azam as the captain of the national team, emphasizing the need to give him the free hand to lead the team.
In an interview with a local media channel, Razzaq cautioned against limiting thoughts on removing Babar from captaincy and appointing a new leader, stating that such a move would not contribute to the team’s improvement.

“Look, when you believe that you should try new things, you are thinking about the improvement of cricket. But if you insist on keeping your thoughts limited to removing Babar from captaincy and bringing in a new captain, how will there be any improvement?” Razzaq questioned.
“You should give him [Babar] the free hand, and the controversy regarding his removal from leading the team should end,” he added.
The 43-year-old emphasized that if the team achieves the top-ranking or performs exceptionally well in upcoming World Cup 2023 scheduled in India, any further debates or controversies regarding his captaincy should be completely eliminated.
“Babar Azam is and will remain the skipper of the national team,” he concluded.
