BCCI recently sacked the Chetan Sharma selection committee after India’s poor performance in ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Chetan Sharma, Harvinder Singh, Sunil Joshi, and Debashish Mohanty were sacked by BCCI after Team India failed to reach the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. India faced a humiliating 10-wicket loss to England in the semi-final.
A selector’s job is a very crucial one for any cricket-playing nation. They have to pick the best players and scout worthy talents for the national team. However, BCCI’s sacking of Chetan Sharma’s selection committee proves that the latter was quite unsuccessful in their job.

3. Venkatesh Iyer
Venkatesh Iyer is the first player on this list. Venkatesh Iyer showed a fabulous performance in the IPL 2021 last year for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Being a hard-hitting opener and a medium pacer bowler, he was seen as a powerful all-rounder for the Indian team.
The left-handed batter also played a few T20I games during the New Zealand tour of India 2021. However, after playing just 9 T20Is and 2 ODI games for India, he was removed from the national side. He scored 24 runs in 2 ODI games and hit 133 runs in 7 T20I innings. He batted at a good average of 33.25 and a strike rate of 162+.
However, he was removed from the national squad and other all-rounders were given a chance. Currently, Varun Chakravarthy, who played for India in January this year, is not considered by selectors in any format.
